Do I have to replace Live mesh with SkyDrive

Dear Margaret,

Windows Live Mesh was part of Windows Live Essentials 2011, while Windows SkyDrive was in Beta until 2012 when they integrated it into Windows Live Essentials 2012, taking Live Mesh's place. Because the new fashion right now is cloud computing everyone is turning their heads toward this, especially Microsoft.

Windows SkyDrive is actually an improvement over Live Mesh, meaning that now you can store the information in the cloud and access it and edit it from any PC, tablet or mobile device that you posses. Live Mesh was used just to synchronize files between PCs only. That's why they've dropped it.

You won't be receiving any updates to Live Mesh and I advise you to take the big step toward cloud computing and see why it is so popular nowadays and how can it make your life so much easier.

There is in fact no radical difference between Live Mesh and Skydrive for PCs.  You'll install the SkyDrive app that will create a folder that will be automatically synced with the cloud. That's pretty much it, as easy as pie. I invite you to have a look for yourself following this website.

I hope this helps.
