Hi,

I have been bugged by this message, when I am trying to download videos from the internet using real player. Normally I would just ignore it and everything will just go out well. Recently, I have encountered this problem again, when I tried to open some web pages. I don’t know what the meaning of this error message is. Will this error affect my computer’s performance in any way?

I have read many “fixes” in Google, but none of them seems to provide the correct way to stop this message from reappearing.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

This is generally not due to a fault in Internet explorer. It happens due to the content in a web page or other fault in the computer such as,

  1. Internet Explorer configured to block running scripts.
  2. DirectX tool, video card drivers are outdated or corrupted.
  3. The antivirus program is configured to scan content on temporary internet folder.
  4. ActiveX is blocked from the computer or network firewall.

How to disable this message?

Follow below steps,

  1. In the main menu, go to tools and then internet options,
  2. Go to the advanced tab and tick “Disable script debugging” and remove tick on “Display a notification about every script error”. (Refer below image for more clarifications).
Disable script debugging” and remove tick on “Display a notification about every script error”

If the error message pops up even after disabling it, check your PC for adware. Download and use an adware removing tool to scan your computer.

Thanks.

 Hi Alex,

The message you get from the scripts is due to the problem with the website or your browser. Sometimes files in internet explorer become corrupted and they need repair to correct the problem. You need to install the latest updates for the browsers to correct these errors.

You can also go to 'Tools' then 'Internet Options' in the top left menu and click on 'Advanced' tab. After that, click on the box 'Disable Scripts Debugging'. You need to then click on 'Display a notification about every script error' to turn it off. Finally click on 'ok'. The error should be solved. The script errors cannot affect your computer's performance since they are errors made in programming.

Thanks.

Errors related to script are very common on Microsoft Internet Explorer. Actually, no matter what version you are using you will still encounter this error when visiting websites. Try following the recommendation on previous posts on how to remove this script error on your browser. Another possible cause for this error is an outdated browser. Try upgrading Microsoft Internet Explorer to the latest version depending on your operating system.

If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, the latest possible version you can have is Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. That’s the last version to support Windows XP. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 and higher, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, and Windows Server 2008.

If you are using Microsoft Windows Vista, the latest possible version you can upgrade to is Microsoft Internet Explorer 9. Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 supports Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or higher, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 or higher, and Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit only) both 32-bit and 64-bit.

If you are using Microsoft Windows 7, the highest possible version you can upgrade to is Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 supports Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit as well as Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (64-bit only) and Windows Server 2012 R2.

The Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser is a discontinued series of web browsers developed by Microsoft. The latest and very last version is Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. It was replaced by Microsoft Edge which Microsoft announced on March 17, 2015 and is the default web browser in Microsoft Windows 10.
