Hi ,

As your saying that your computer is installed with Windows 95, it is a very old operating system and it does not support many of the functions which are supported in the other versions of Microsoft operating systems like XP and NT.  Microsoft  has a package known as Internet connection sharing, where this package supports the versions which are of second and above.  As Windows 95 is a lower version, it does not support this version but also Windows 95 does support Internet connection sharing with the help of some third party software which are available in the market

Software like:

  • Win gate
  • Sygate

These software support the Internet connection sharing with the help of cable, DSL services and modems.

If you are still using Windows 95 on your computer, I think it’s very old and may not be compatible with today’s software. With today’s kind of hardware that makes a CPU, the system you have will definitely run fast but I’m sure will have lots of compatibility problems since most of the drivers available today no longer support this version of Microsoft Windows. Upgrading to a much higher version of the operating system is recommended so you can surely use Internet Connection Sharing.

Most of today’s operating system support ICS or Internet Connection Sharing because of internet’s availability. But, in case your Windows 95 is also running on an old and slower CPU, it would be best to upgrade it all from the CPU up to the operating system.
