My friend just bought a new pc that has two video cards installed on it. One is an NVIDIA and the other is an ATI.

What kind of technology is being used in order to work both video cards as one?

What kind of  technology architecture/algorithm is being used here?

It really amazed me.

It's not that new for other people. It’s possible but depends on your motherboard. Your Motherboard must have of course two or more slots for your video card.

There are also other people use more than two video cards, although I haven’t tried that yet. In windows you can easily select which video card you want to use.

But before you can run those video cards in two one Motherboards, there are compatible issues that you need to consider.

Your cards must have the same graphic chip mode and it is required.

Using two graphic cards will increase your computer regarding graphics performance.
