Hello,
My DVD rom has suddenly stopped working though it was working perfectly lately. I have no idea about what has happened or how to solve this problem. It has just vanished from the my computer.
I have reconnected it the CPU but the result is the same. While I push the button the room does open but nothing is seen in my computer. Please someone tell me what to do under circumstances.

Hey Leo!
Not only you but many other people are also facing the same problem. Do not worry about it. I also fixed this problem for me
Well follow these steps and see how it works.
1. Click Start > Run and type regedit and press enter.
2. A new window will be open. Go to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE > System > Current Control Set > Control > Class > {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
3. Here on the right pane all these files are related to your CD/DVD rooms.Â
4 Delete the following files(if these are in your registry)Â by right click on the file:
1. UpperFiltersÂ
2. LowerFilters   Â
3. UpperFilters.bak   Â
4. LowerFilters.bak
5. After deleting the file(s), close the registry and reboot your system.
After login the window again, you will able to see your CD/DVD Rom.
Note: Make sure that your CD/DVD Rom drivers are updated.
Thanks

Hi Leo ,Â
Â
Please note that while posting software related questions here please also add the details about the OS, its version and all then only we can tell you specifically otherwise we must tell the solution in general wise.Â
Â
I think you are having trouble with a missing DVD rom drive right, This is very common issue that i too experienced it once .Â
Â
Don't worry this is not because your DVD drive is dead, this is a software related bug that windows is handling right now.
In windows (Microsoft) forums you can see 1000s of similar questions and answers, most of them are solved though.Â
Â
Since this is a wide spread error Microsoft had implemented a test sequence and internet based error handling system for this error alone .Â
Â
Â
Open this URL, click the run now button and follow the steps accordingly.Â
