Hello Everyone,
I am using DVDFab Trial version and I encountered the following problem while trying to convert a blu-ray movie disc. I loaded the blu-ray disk and made the necessary profile changes. Once the profile settings were completed, I clicked the ‘Start’ button to convert my blu-ray movie. And then, I get an error message which says file already exists. I did try a similar conversion before. But why should it prevent my keeping the earlier version as well as the latest version of the movie? Is there a work around to fix this issue? I am waiting for updates from you. Thank you for the help rendered.
The file(s) already exists:
I:
AppleRED_BIRD_2D_WWRED_BIRD_2
D_WW.Title852.m4v
Do you want to overwrite it?
DVDFab gives an error when trying to convert a blu-ray movie
There is actually no problem with that. That generated filename you see from the application is automatically generated when converting a movie getting the source from a disc. This is normal actually and done by default by most programs that rips different CDs or DVDs or even Blu-ray discs. I think there is nothing wrong with your DVDFab and it works perfectly well.
The problem is just in the output filename of the converted movie. This happens because the application stores the converted video in one single folder. You can fix it by renaming the old file with a different label so you can save the new Blu-ray disc you are converting. Maybe that’s the same disc where the old file was converted from.
And if it’s the same disc you used then you will surely or the application will surely generate the same label for the filename. If you are using an old version, download the latest version from DVDFab 9. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 both x86 and x64. For Mac users, it supports Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, 10.7 Lion, 10.8 Mountain Lion, and 10.9 Mavericks.
