E machines 350 quick guide in USB not detected

Hi.  I just purchased a used eMachine 350 that has a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD and Windows XP Home OS.  It came with the e Machines 350 quick guide in a USB.  I insert the USB into the USB slot and nothing happens, the eMachine won't detect it.  I try to insert it on my desktop and it works fine.  Could the USB slot in my eMachine be busted?

Hi Dudley Achan,

You have first to check all the drivers software on the device manager that is located at the properties window of my computer, check if you have enabled your USB host controller/driver 2.0 and if you have seen this thing and has a yellow triangle sign, please install a USB driver, you can get driver software by checking the specs and drivers available from your emachines or you may use the original CD that is included upon purchase, that should fix the problem
