I would like to buy an e-reader for my 7 and 10 years old children.
I would like to buy something in colour, so they can enjoy the pictures as well as the story.
I also need something that is only for books, and not another avenue for playing video games (so this rules out tablets).
The device needs to be sturdy, because children are destructive, no matter how well behaved.
At the moment I cannot decide between the Nook HD and the Kindle Fire.
Which one would suit my children better? Are there other alternatives?

E-readers for children: Nook HD vs Kindle Fire
Hello,
The Nook HD and the Kindle Fire HD, both serve well for the reading purpose, as the name suggests they both supports colors, graphics e.g. like pictorial books for kids. Moreover, other specifications like OS, weight, screen size, etc. are also not very different in both tabs. Now when you need to buy anything for the kids, robustness is one of the important factors you will consider.
This is easily noticeable that the Nook tab is very average looking as compared to the Kindle Fire, but plus points are, this consists of physical buttons, better battery life, and expandable storage.
On the other hand, Kindle Fire is not only better looking, value for our money, but slimmer, compact and more durably build.Â
Hope this information will help you.
