Hi
Jailbreaking a device doesn’t affect the device’s battery life. However, the jailbreak tweaks installed might affect the phone’s battery. Some of the tweaks introduce background activity which in turn increases the load on the phone and hence decreasing the battery life. Also, the battery life of any phone mainly depends upon the background activity. If the background activity is minimum, then it doesn’t affect the battery life much.
Generally, jailbreaking will not have any direct impact on the battery life of your iPhone or iOS device since it only modifies the file system of the device giving you complete access to the whole system. The impact will be on the third-party apps you will be installing since jailbroken devices will allow you to install both signed and unsigned apps from the Apple App Store and other developers.
Several third-party applications and processes care less regarding the amount of power they will be pulling from your iOS device. If you are running several of these apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, your battery could deplete in a very short time. iOS devices that haven’t been jailbroken will only allow you to install signed apps from the Apple App Store.
If you try to install unsigned apps, the iOS system will block the operation. Aside from that, if you jailbreak your phone, you might be facing a hard time when upgrading it in the future. Please remember, when you jailbreak your phone, your phone’s warranty will be void and Apple may decline servicing your handset.
