Email attachments will not open

I use Hotmail (now Outlook) and I cannot get my email attachments to open. It gives me the option to view or download but no matter what I select I am getting an error. Any suggestions on what I can try? I have tried restarting and also logging back out of email then back on but no luck. Thanks.

Email attachments will not open

There are few options you can try

• Reset the security options in Internet Explorer and the browser you are using
• Follow these steps for a simple setting change,
  • Open IE >> go to browser toolbar >> tools >>  Internet options >> Advanced security >> uncheck the check boxes near the options 'Do not save encrypted files to disk' and 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus' >> OK
• Uninstall and reinstall Outlook
