Hi,
I had stored my important office files on a USB drive. I was of the view that in such a way, I would be able to recover my data in case of System Crash. But when it did happen i.e. my system crashed, I'm unable to recover my original .doc files.
I copied my .doc files from the USB to my Computer after Clean install. And now whenever I double click them to open, it says, select Encoding Scheme. And when I select English (US) or something, the whole document looks as if some code.
Please help, how to resolve this encoding issue ?

Encoding Error when I open my MS Office files
Yes I also had the same type of problem some days earlier. This encoding error is caused by a virus which has infected your USB. This virus has damaged your files and these files are no longer usable. Sorry to say but you cannot use these files anymore and it is not possible to recover these.
And because of this virus your PC may be got infected. It will be better to use a good Antivirus. Try to clean your USB and PC from viruses as soon as possible otherwise it can cause you more damage to your stored data.
