Experts, i need your assistance:
Installing iSpy should not be difficult, right? But then, it was the opposite. I had difficulty in installing the software on a newly bought PC with Win 7 of course. I tried several time but I still got the error message below. Anyone who can help fix the problem?

Hi Elona,
As every error code refers to a specific problem, this ‘Error 1001’ refers to problem with administrative privileges. (You can guess it by the ‘Access is denied’ message). I am pretty sure that from which user account you are trying to install this software doesn’t have administrative privileges.
So, to solve this kind of problem right click on the .MSI install file, select ‘Run as Administrator’ and then install it to 100%. It will fix the problem. If it doesn’t then log in to the Windows Administrator account (In case of Windows &/Vista) and install it right from there.

Guzman

Installing software shouldn’t be difficult as long as you are using the correct type of user account. Installing software on a computer should be carried out by an administrator or a user account with administrator rights. Limited accounts or those non-admin accounts can also install programs but on select programs only.
This type of account can’t install software like Microsoft Office or antivirus because these applications require registry permissions to modify and create registry entries which a standard or limited account doesn’t have. That error you received is an “access denied” error which clearly points to user permissions. If you keep receiving that error, check your user account if you have administrative privileges or you are using an administrator account.
If you don’t have admin rights, you cannot install the program. Ask someone with administrator rights to install the program for you. On the other hand, if you are using an administrator account but you are receiving this, try running the installer as administrator. Right-click the installer or setup file and select “Run as administrator”. See if this works. Also, check that your computer meets the requirements.
