Hi,
While try to join online I got following error message in Portal 2; "Engine Error; Couldn’t allocate any server IP port, tried 1 address.". Is this due to internet connection problem?
Or problem in gaming architecture? I use mobile broadband for internet and downloaded the game from a website.
If you have any solution please let me know.

Hi,
Before connecting, enter the following commands into the game's console:
clientport 27006
hostport 27016
tv_port 27021 This will use different ports to connect to the server (these are not the ports that the game connects to (it gets these from the server), they are the ports on the local computer that it opens to connect), and will fix the conflicts between the dedicated server and the game.
The port numbers above can actually be set to any unused port (the ones above are the default values + 1).
EDIT: Of course, this assumes that your server isn't on any of these ports, if it is then changing them.
You could also try this > you need to port forward these ports:
27016
27021
then right click to the srcds.exe shortcut and then find Target, add this with space after:
+hostport 27016 +tv_port 27021
The whole thing should look like this:
C:HLServerorangeboxsrcds.exe -game garrysmod +hostport 27016 +tv_port 27021
Hope this helps.

The game Portal 2 is a first-person puzzle-based game designed and published by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to the previous Portal game released in 2007. While they keep lots of the elements of the original Portal game, this sequel added features like tractor beams and laser redirection. Portal 2 is designed for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
Portal 2 is distributed via retail and online versions. The retail versions of the game is handled by Electronic Arts and Steam handles the online distribution for the Windows and Mac OS X versions which is also Valve’s content delivery service. For Windows and Mac users, you can download Portal 2 from Steam: Portal 2.
After checking the game and with your current operating system, I don’t see any problem for any compatibility issue. Portal 2 supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Mac OS X 10.6.7 Snow Leopard and later. I’ve also checked the game’s site for any available patch download that what game providers usually do but unfortunately there is none available.
Try this method which worked on most users having the same problem. Try changing the following port numbers in console mode:
-
clientport 27006
-
hostport 27016
-
tv_port 27021
