Not in Office as home based – Booted laptop (Lenovo T61), started beeping and came up with message error 0210:stuck key 17 press F1, couldn't press F1, escape got me in, and some of the keys don't work when typed in notepad.
Managed to attach an external keyboard so can continue to work.
Error 0210:stuck key 17 press F1
This is more of a hardware problem than a software error. Maybe you accidentally dropped something on the keyboard that’s why your laptop’s keys got problem. Try to check your computer for any possible errors.
Use a disk utility application to diagnose your hard drive.
If you don’t have one, you may use Windows’ disk check tool or just follow the steps below:
-
Right-click drive C then select Properties.
-
Click Tools tab.
-
Click Check Now.
-
Check Automatically fix file system errors then click Start.
If the problem is still the same after checking your computer, you may need a qualified technician to check your laptop’s keyboard. It is probably the laptop’s keyboard BIOS that has the problem.
Since you can use an external keyboard, there’s no need to format your laptop and reinstall Windows because the operating system works perfectly using an external keyboard, and this means that there is no problem with Windows.
