My dilemma is regarding my GOM Media Player. I am trying to start the player, but it is not responding. It was working well for the past weeks but now it keeps giving me error
Cannot play this media file. Error code: 0x00000051
– Confirm location path of the media file.
– This media file is possible to be not supportable or to be damaged.
– Confirm that appropriate codec is initialized to play this media file.
The file that I am trying to play is an old file which runs well without issues before.
How can I fix it?
Error 0x00000051 in GOM Media Player
Error 0x00000051 occurs if there is no appropriate codec to play a movie. GOM Media Player need a specific codecs to interpret the data in video/audio files. And there are some instances that you will play a video file that needs a codec that is not included in the GOM Media Player installation. If you have been prompted with this codec error, Just click the Find Codec button to automatically find the missing codec.
Another reason for this is if the video you are playing is corrupted, damaged and not supported. Try to get a video file that is supported by GOM and ensure that it is not corrupted. Another resolution is to open the ports 80, 843, 63800 on your Firewall and router.

Error 0x00000051 in GOM Media Player
Just to make sure that your old file still runs, try to use other media player if the file is still good then there is no problem with your file. Next is using a new file to be played using the GOM Media player, if it works then there must be some codec’s that updates the GOM Media player that doesn’t support your old file. You can also reinstall the GOM Media player and run your old file to make sure if it’s either your old file was corrupted or the GOM media player.
