Hello Techy People!
I am using MS Outlook 2007 in my Windows 7 PC. My system is up to date and yet I am receiving error 0x80042108.
I was unable to connect to the server to send or receive emails. My laptop has Windows XP and it can successfully receive emails that are connected with my domain.
I tried to uninstall and re-install MS Outlook, create new accounts, and tried some old accounts but I have no luck.
How can I fix this?
Error 0x80042108 on MS Outlook
Hi,
This error usually occurs due to the antivirus programs which is being used by your PC.
-
First of all check for settings of the antivirus programs and disable e-mail scanning process (during sending or receiving e-mails).
-
If that doesn't work, try Repairing Microsoft outlook using scanpst.exe.
-
Check the antivirus’s websites for patches or any other updates which will most of the time help solve the problem
-
(Also, Check Outlook Add Ins, just in case if you are using anything like Norton)
-
Meantime also look out for fire-wall configuration settings.
If none of he above does not work out you may try to fix the error using the Outlook PSTÂ repair software, where the free demo download can be made from the link given below:

Error 0x80042108 on MS Outlook
Obviously, the connection between Outlook and the mail server was interfered. From the Microsoft official website, some tips could be found to solve this.
Corrupted files are found on the hard drive.
Â
a. Norton Personal Firewall 2002 are running.
b. Norton Internet Security is running.
c. Update for  Microsoft Office has installed.
d. Enabled the Outlook of Norton Anti-Spam Add-in.
Â
Try to disable above a-d apps if any is running.
Â
Please note that Norton Anti-Spam add-in, Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall 2002 are supported by Symantec Inc.
Â
And Microsoft may pass these bugs to Symantec.
