Error 0x80240017 on Purchasing Apps in Windows Store

I just migrated to Windows 8 from my previous Windows 7. And then I updated to Windows 8.1 Pro and attempt to purchase some apps in the Windows Store. And this happens when trying to install any app. The error is:

Your purchase couldn't be completed

Something happened and your purchase can't be completed. Error code: 0x80240017

Try again     Cancel

Also, some apps are not updating and checking on it says, there is no updates available. How can I fix this?

Error 0x80240017 on Purchasing Apps in Windows Store

Hello,

This error usually happens due to Windows Update. Windows Update makes Windows better and improver. Many errors and hotfixes are installed through it. At the same time, it might make problems.

1. Go to Start menu >> All programs >> Accessories >> Run.

2. Type and enter “services.msc”.

3. Now, find out the service named “Windows Update”.

4. Double-click and open its core, press “Start” from “Service status” and from the “Startup type”, select “Automatic”.

Now do the task again. No more trouble this time for sure.
