Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read

Hi!

I have Windows Vista operating system with 32 bit and I am trying to install the Dell Quickset but the installer doesn’t proceed and giving me error. I thought the above error can be handled through the changing of operating system so I switched over the Windows 7 32-bit, but when I started to install it on Windows 7 with 32-bit, I faced the same error over this operating system also. Please read the error installation:

Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:DellDriversR226931Quickset.msi.

Please tell me where to download the latest installer which would be beneficial for me or let me know if this is an error on my operating system or hardware issue.

I am attaching the screen shot of the error, please view it.

And suggest me about the solution(s), please. I will be very thankful to you.

Hi there Marjorie B Danek,

Your notebook is designed to work the best with Windows Vista and that is the main reason why you are experiencing these difficulties.

There are few things you can do.
Start over the whole driver installation process. Install the notebook utility drivers, chipset drivers and only when they are all set up install the rest. This is a standard procedure when setting up drivers, as none of the drivers can be installed without proper notebook and chipset drivers.

If even after then you can't install the wanted drivers, try using your old Vista drivers in the Compatibility mode, that will work for sure.
