I get error 1606 cannot access network location when I try to install Microsoft Word 2002. How to resolve it? How to remove error 1606 cannot access network location?

Error 1606 Cannot Access Network Location.

To resolve this error follow the instructions given below.

1. Open registry editor.

2. Now go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Find Software in the left pane. On clicking on Software you will find Microsoft as one of the options inside the list, click on it. Now go to Windows and then on Current Version. Here you will find Explorer, click on it and go to User Shell Folders.

3. Delete the key named ‘recent’ present on the right side.

4. Restart your Windows.

You can also try to resolve this error by disabling the internet before installation. Enable internet after the installation gets completed.
