Error 1920. Service ‘Office Software Protection Platform’ (osppsvc) failed to start

Good day to you.

I was trying to install MS Project Standard 2010 when I got an error code.

Error 1920. Service 'Office Software Protection Platform' (osppsvc) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

How do I fix this? Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Error 1920. Service ‘Office Software Protection Platform’ (osppsvc) failed to start

Hi there Christopher K Davis,

 

There was a known bug that caused this error because of leftovers from the previous versions of the software. In case you had a beta version of the MS Office installed, you will need to remove the leftovers and do a fresh installation of the version you'd like to use.

 

If this is not the case, you are facing some permission problems. Try running the installer as an Administrator – right click the installer icon and select the 'Run as Administrator' from the menu.
