Hello there,

I was trying to install Corel Paint Shop Pro when an error message window happened. Please guide me step by step if there’s any solution.

Error 1921 Service ProtexixLicensing could not be stopped

Hello,

The 1921 error is caused by the installation program not having permissions to stop the Protexix Licensing Service automatically.

There could be multiple ways to solve this problem –

1. Execute the setup by running it as an administrator user.
2. In case if you do not have administrative privileges or cannot get an administrator to help. The following procedure should help stop the error from happening –
   1. Open Windows Task Manager.
   2. Click onto the Processes tab.
   3. Check the box near the bottom of the Task Manager window that says "Show processes from all users".
   4. Locate process PSIService.exe. Select it and click the End Process button.
   5. Now try to install the program.

Error 1921 Service ProtexixLicensing could not be stopped

Hi Mildred,

You can do these steps to avoid having the error 1921 for keeping appearing whenever you are installing the Paint Shop Pro XI:

Step 1: Close all applications except Paint Shop Pro XI.

Step 2: Go to your Windows Task Manager by right click your taskbar and select the Start Task Manager.

Step 3: Hit the Processes tab and find the PSIService.exe

Step 4: Select the PSIPService.exe then hit End Process just hit yes on the prompt that will appear.

Step 5: You can now try to install again your Paint Shop Pro XI.
