If running a registry cleaner causes this error, check if it is compatible with your operating system. If you have a 64-bit Microsoft Windows, there should be no problem installing a 32-bit program because it will be opened in 32-bit compatibility mode. If the product is perfectly compatible with your operating system, try reinstalling it.
Uninstall it, restart your computer and then install it back. See if this fixes the problem. Also, try upgrading the program to the latest version. Another way is to use a different registry cleaner. Try using PC Tools Performance Toolkit. It is not only a registry cleaner but a system optimization tool as well. It can improve the performance of your computer aside from cleaning the registry.
Unfortunately, this product has been discontinued last year by Symantec. You can download the very last version of this product from PC Tools Performance Toolkit 2.1.0. This is the screenshot of my own copy of the product that I downloaded from the PC Tools official website last year before the shutdown. See image.
