I want to try the new VMware Workstation 8, so I went to the VMware website to download the trial version.
I want to do a clean install, so I first removed the older version installed on my Windows 7 PC and cleaned up the TEMP folder. I ran the setup file of the trial version, but the following Error 2732 popped out:Â
VMware Workstation
Error 2731. Directory Manager not initialized.
VMware Workstation
Please wait while Windows configures VMware Workstation
I didn't know what happened. Has anyone encountered the same error?
How can I resolve it?
Error 2732 While Installing VMware Workstation 8
Hi Halin Dan,
This is a MSI bug, and naturally you need to do a MSI Bugfix. But this is another long process and also critical I think.
Otherwise I like to advise you to download the file again and try. Hope you understand the point. Thanks
Error 2732 While Installing VMware Workstation 8
VMware Workstation 8 should be installed on 64 bit hardware and Windows 7 OS.
Install as Administrator by either logging into the administrator or right clicking and "Run as administrator"
If that doesn't fix the problem, :
TRy changing the "environment variables". This can be done byÂ
-
Go to control panel >> system >> advanced system settings
-
select environmental variables in the advanced tab.
-
Copy the TEMP AND TMP details to a file for changing later.
-
Change "TEMP" and "TMP" Â entries to "C:Temp"
now install using the administrator privileges.
After installation change the TEMP and TMP variables to the usual values!
