I tried to install windows 7 a week ago but I got an error prompt that states:
"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed". "Windows Installer Service could not be started".
"Could not start the Windows Installer service on Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied”.
Is there something in particular that I could have done wrong?
Type the name of a program, folder, document, or Internet resource, and Windows will open it for you.
Open: msiexec / unreg
OK

Error 5: Access is denied on accessing Windows Installer Service
Hi Adams Baker,
This problem in Windows 7 is caused by wrong installation of “Window Installer Service”. If the Installer service is not correctly installed, then this exception is thrown when you try to install windows. The remedy for this is getting a new installation disk and re-installing the “Window Installer Program”
The Following are the most likely causes of this Error:
-
Maybe you removed a program that uses the Windows Installer that led to its corruption.
-
The windows installer service is not running in your local machine.
-
Registry settings for Windows Installer are corrupted.
