What does Error 7600 on Windows 7 means?

My laptop has Windows 7 Home Premium. When I was trying to install ‘Ubuntu’ in the Laptop, accidentally all the partitions are removed. Even though I am not sure is it legit, I have downloaded Windows 7 from other PC.

But now it gives me an error ‘7600 build Error’. Also it creates lot of problems. I just want to work my Windows 7 normally. Kindly help me to get out of this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Calvin,

Please check Windows 7 displays "Windows is not Genuine"

If not,

Please visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click on the Validate Windows button then restart your computer.

If you weren't able to Validate, proceed as follows:

1. Download this diagnostic tool, saving it to your desktop: http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/F/3/9F3DED28-A521-4352-B8A4-20368D0CC1AA/MGADiag.exe

WinXP: Double-click on the executable to run the tool.

Vista & Win7: Right-click on the executable and select Run as Administrator to run the tool.

2. After running the tool, click on the Windows tab and then click on Copy (to clipboard).

You may want to open a new Notepad file, paste the contents of your clipboard into it & save for future reference.

3. Begin a new thread in the appropriate Microsoft Genuine Advantage forum and paste the results from the WGA and/or OGA Diagnostic Data tool in a detailed post: https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?category=genuine&category=genuine

4. A troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.
