Hey all,
When I start Outlook, an error appears saying – “there is no associated email program”. When I click OK, the program starts installing something. This happens whenever I launch Outlook. If I go to the archive, it says there is an upgrade going on and that I can't open up the account settings.
This occurs after I install Microsoft online services for Office 365.
Do you know how I can solve this?

Hello Jasika,
That is an issue that occurs as a result of corrupt Outlook registry. You need therefore to remove the corrupted key and thereafter perform a Detect and Repair operation so that Outlook can rebuild that key.
Here is how you will go about it:
-
Click Start on your computer, and then Run.
-
Type regedit in the Open box and then press ENTER.
-
The Registry Editor will open. You will need to find the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareClientsMailMicrosoft Outlook
-
You will need to delete that subkey.
-
And then Click Yes to exit Registry Editor.
-
Start Outlook.
-
Go to the Help menu, and choose Office Diagnostics.
-
Follow the steps that will be on the screen to complete the repair.

Carl

Hello Jame,
You can try these following things to get your email program up and running.
1. The first and the foremost thing I would be suggesting is to wait for the upgrade to complete. Assuming that you are connected to the internet, Windows Outlook takes some time to download the necessary files and then install them wherever needed.
2. You need to get all the updates for Microsoft Office. Use the recommended settings and update your software. I don't think there's any problem with Microsoft online services. Microsoft online services have nothing to do with this e-mail problem.
