I updated my AVG 10.0.1390 recently.
I started having problems like not being able to access it at all because all the components were disabled.
I tried a system restore so I can access the program.
The “Identity Protection” and “Resident Shield” were both disabled leaving me unable to scan my PC for viruses.
I cannot also run the AVG Watchdog and shows an error message “Error 5: Access Denied” even if I am the Administrator.
What can I do to solve this?
Thanks for your possible help.

-
NET STOP MSISERVER (in capitals)
-

Close the command prompt window and try out required update again.
And then try to delete the old version so you were able to install the newest version of 2012.
Hope this can help.
