I have a Windows 10 PC, and I am not able to make any updates because it gets interrupted with an error message along with the code, 0x80072ee2. My applications are almost outdated, so can someone suggest me ways on how to fix this error?
Error Code 0x80072ee2, Information And How To Fix It?
there may be several reasons for this cause like an internet connection issue, Firewall issue, viruses or threats, Windows update components.
Before you fix this issue, make sure that you have a backup of all your data.
If you are using a Wi-Fi router, then check your connections using troubleshooter, troubleshoot the issue or change the IP settings. Troubleshooting will help you find what the problem is. After doing so, it will automatically fix the error for you. After it fixes the error, restart your system. Then check if the windows store is functioning fine or not. If it is working fine, then your issue has been resolved.
If Firewall is the issue, then turning it off in Windows control panel will help you fix this error code. Go to control panel> search for Firewall options> click on Windows firewall> turn it off.
If doing the above steps do not solve the error, then your system can have a virus or another threat. Run an antivirus scan, a complete one, so that if there are any threats that application comes across, then it will display it and you can remove it if you do not want it.
You can also try to troubleshoot Windows itself by going to Windows settings> update and security.
Error Code 0x80072ee2, Information And How To Fix It?
You may receive error code “0x80072ee2” when downloading a Windows Update. If ever you encounter this error when downloading a particular Windows Update, it indicates that something is blocking the update service on Windows and preventing it from connecting to the Microsoft server. Error code “0x80072ee2” means ERROR_INTERNET_TIMEOUT. This error code is normally accompanied by one of the following messages:
Windows could not search for new updates
Windows Update encountered an unknown error
To troubleshoot the problem, first, restart the computer then make sure your internet connection is working after booting. If your computer is connected to a router, try restarting the router. If the router has a power button, press it to turn it off then unplug it from the power for about twenty (20) seconds.
Press any button on the router to discharge any leftover power or to power cycle. After this, plug the router back to the power and turn it on. If this doesn’t work, try using the Windows Update Troubleshooter. For Windows 8.x and Windows 10, this tool is built-in but for Windows 7, it has to be downloaded but unfortunately Microsoft has already removed the download for this tool.
Anyway, you can just use their online troubleshooter: Fix Windows Update errors.
