Hello Guys and Gals!
I am receiving an error from my computer when I try re-installing my MS Office 2010. The error that I am getting is this:“Error 25004.config.xml not specified”
It first appeared when I uninstalled my MS office. I tried to use the system restore method to get back to my old office. But when I run any of the applications I get that error again.
Any suggestions on how to fix this will be really helpful!
Thanks!

Error Code 25004.config.xml not specified
Error 25004. Config.Xml not specified ; A valid config.xml file must be authored…
points to syntax error in config.xml file. Try to comment out some lines you have added and also check that:
-
product key (PIDKEY) is without dashes (only numbers and letters)
-
config.xml is in directory where main MSI file resides (if in doubt, better copy config.xml to more places where you think it should be)
This helped to solve the issue for me.
Error Code 25004.config.xml not specified
Hi,
Please follow the following procedure to solve the issue.
Remove each and every file of MS Office from your system. Go the 'Control Panel' and uninstall MS Office. Then go the 'Program Files' and remove the MS Office folder. Also check the start menu for any icons left relevant to the MS Office. And now reinstall the program. In case of failure please try another solution given below.
Install 'YourUninstaller Tool'. Now use this tool to remove each and every file related to MS Office. Then download software named 'CCleaner'. Install and run to delete all temporary registry files of MS Office from your system. Now install fresh copy of MS Office 2010. It will work.
