Error code -40 on Dragon Nest

I am not able to successfully install Dragon Nest onto my new HP Pavilion G6-1D71 due to an Error code = -40. Please help.

Error code -40 on Dragon Nest

 

Error Code -40 is a Nexon Game Manager (NGM) error that typically occurs when the installation process is blocked or interrupted by an external program. The first sets of numbers within the parentheses are assumed to be the file number identifier where the installation process failed, but this has not been confirmed.

Your anti-virus, firewall, or other security program(s) may be blocking NGM from working correctly. It may be possible that a background process or service is conflicting with NGM. If else fails , a new installation is recommended as your current Installation file may possibly be corrected so therefore downloading the installer again is necessary

Error code -40 on Dragon Nest

Hello Roger,

There are several reasons as to why you may be having that error when installing Dragon Nest onto your computer:

• The installation might be blocked by the security applications that you have on your computer, for instance the antivirus and firewall. You will therefore need to check them and add the Dragon Nest to exceptions in case the security applications are blocking its installation.
• The setup application that you're using could be corrupt, and therefore you will need to get one that is working. Ensure that you download from a trusted site. If you have Google Chrome on your computer, try downloading using it instead of the other browsers you have and see if that will help.
