Error code 40402 when updating address book in YM

Good day! I am using Yahoo Messenger 8.1 and llmost 9 out of 10 times, when I am trying to update address book of my Yahoo Messenger Contacts (like adding mobile number or nick name, etc), I get the error code 40402, and my updating is not accepted.

Please help me with this.

Error code 40402 when updating address book in YM

Hello there Cynthiawgalloway, 

Do not worry. Your problem can be resolved. Error 40402 occurs when Yahoo server detects that the user of Yahoo Messenger is doing something which is not according to the sequence and this is what triggers the error. 

 

For solving this, try to edit the details of your contacts in your address book before editing messenger contact information. If the problem persists, try fixing it from your web profile account. You are also recommended to update to the latest version of Yahoo Messenger that is, Yahoo! Messenger 11.5.
