Hello experts
I have tried to download a workbook but it shows "A newer version of this workbook is available. Tableau Public will open the latest version of this workbook.' On the other hand, it is never proficient to run any version. An error message keeps on occurring. It displays something like this:
"Error: Error communicating with the repository (404): Unable to get file Request ID: TRYIVgq@AR4AACIMsgUAAABa"
Did Tableau drop the workbook that I have so carefully made??
Please help. Thanks a lot.
Error communicating with the repository (404) in Tableau Pacific
Hi Linda,
This is hypertext transfer protocol response code Not found, which means that the client was able to communicate with the server but the server cannot found the page requested. 404 first digit is a client error such as mistyped Uniform Resource locator or finding a bad navigation link and the last 2 digit means specific error encountered. This error will redirect to homepage. Usually this is a temporary error, because the pages is removed, deleted or redesigned. And also internet explorer will not display page unless they are larger than 512 bytes. Try to go to go explorer tool >internet options>advanced tab>unchecked "show friendly http error message. Try to download again, let's see if it works. Sometimes the cause of the error is due to misconfigured system files. You can scan that by downloading registry cleaner.
