I’ve been suspecting that my registry is corrupt due to the occurrence or error dialog every time I launched an application.
This may be due to some viruses or a malware that causes this kind of error. I have run my antivirus scanner and detect some viruses, and I assume that this is the one that causes the error.
The name of the virus was “SirCam” which is my first time to encounter such virus. I’ve installed CCleaner which is free to download on the net. I try to fix the registry file by clicking the “Fix” button and then “Scan for Issues”, for a couple of second lots of registry error have been detected and then I Click the” Fix selected issues”. So far everything is going right now. Though I’m curious if my assumption was right and what kind of Virus is “SirCam”.
The image is an error whenever I try to launched the calculator, same goes to other application.
calc.exe
Windows cannot find 'calc.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

Your calculator in the Accessories menu is missing. It has been deleted somehow. You can do the following:
1. Go to Control Panel. Click on Add/Remove Programs. Then click on Add/Remove Windows Components. Click on Accessories and Utilities. Click on Accessories. The Accessories items will show in detail. From the following items click the Calculator to enable Calculator, then click on OK and again click on OK. Now get out of the Add/Remove Programs and Control Panel.
2. First go to my computer, then click on drive C. Click on Windows folder. Enter system32 folder.
Now click on calc.exe file. You'll find several Calculators on your PC screen.
3. Double-click START/ACCESSORIES. An explorer window will appear. Create a shortcut of %SystemRoot%system32calc.exe.
Error on running application: SirCam Virus detected
Hello dear,
It seems that your computer contains viruses. The file calc.exe exists in C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32 folder, and we can run this calculator by typing calc in RUN. Now, the virus has stopped your file, or it has been corrupted.
I suggest you scan your computer with the best antivirus, and try to run the scanner using Windows in safe mode.
It will give you better results. I hope this helps you.
Thanks.
