Hi Experts,
I was trying to power on a VM via Vcenter when I encountered this error message below (months ago).
So I restarted the host then it was fine.Â
However, I started getting the error again which seemed intermittent.Â
Got any solution to get rid of the error message permanently?Â
I depend on you guys. Please help.Â
Thanks in advance.

Error encountered while powering on a VM
The possible cause of the error is because the CPU reservation of the virtual machine has become greater than the total CPU that is available on a single processor, and therefore you will need to troubleshoot that.
Use the following procedure:
-
You will need to connect to the ESX or vCenter Server host using the right administrative credentials.
-
And then you will select the virtual machine from the inventory.
-
And thereafter you will right-click on the virtual machine and click Edit Settings.
-
You will then locate the Virtual Machine Properties dialog, and from there click the Resources tab.
-
You will need to select CPU from list under the Settings column.
-
Once done the above, you will use the slider or the Reservation text box to lower the CPU reservation value.
-
That is it.
