Error in Installing HomePipeAgent occurred

Hi experts,

I’m getting an Error 1001 when trying to install HomePipe. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

The error message says,

HomePipe Agent

Error 1001. An exception occurred during the Commit phase installation. This

exception will be ignored and installation will continue. However, the application might not

function correctly after installation is complete. –> Cannot start service HomePipeAgent on

computer '.'. –> The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fas…

Error in Installing HomePipeAgent occurred

Hi,

For resolving you will need to edit the registry. Please also make sure that you back up the registry before you make any changes. A Use Registry Editor tool to edit the registry with your own risk:

1. Modify the extended timeout to 5 minutes or 300000 to the servicepipetimeout registry. Restart the machine and run the installer again.
2. If the first method fails disable the NIC card or cards if you have more than one. Disable it for the time while the installation has not completed.
