Hi guys.

Today I was trying to install PowerCLI on a fresh installed Windows 2008 R2 server.

Then I got the following warning:

VMware vSphere PowerCLI Installer Information

Error 1406. Could not write value InstallPath to key
SoftwareVMware,Inc.VMware vSphere PSDK Runtime. Verify
that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your
support personnel.

      Abort                  Retry                   Ignore

Can anyone help me? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

In order to fix this problem, you must delete one of the Registry keys on your computer. Please perform the following ways given below to solve this issue.

1. First and foremost, please go to Start button on your Windows screen and search for Run.

2. Next, type regedit in the data box and then click OK.

3. Once the Registry Editor window popped up, please navigate to the following registry key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeVmware,Inc.

4. After that, right-click on the registry key and select Delete.

5. Finally, quit the Registry Editor window and reboot your system.

The PowerCLI setup should now finish and run properly with no

errors.
