Palm Desktop 6.2: Error in creating Error File

Hi experts,

I recently purchased a new Palm Centro which came with Palm Desktop 6.2 and HotSync Manager (Windows).I wanted to sync my palm device with my pc which has windows XP Pro installed on it so that, I could back up my info and edit it on my computer easily.

I also wanted to keep the information on my pc updated by synchronizing the changes I made on my palm Centro including Calendar, Contacts, tasks and memo with those on the Pc. So I tried installing the palm desktop 6.2 that came with my Centro and it would start out well enough but at the end it keeps displaying the message;

FileCreation

Error in creating error file

I tried re-installing it, but the message persists, is there a newer version of the software? Or what do I need to do to have a successful installation? My pc is running on windows XP Pro 32 bit editions.

Palm Desktop 6.2: Error in creating Error File

Try rebooting your computer did that resolve the error? If it’s still not working, try right clicking the installer and Run as Administration for the installation. If not? Then try checking your My documents folder is in the drive c:\documents and settings? because the palm desktop installer need the my documents folder to its default location which itsin the c: drive so if it’s not in the in the default location try putting it back on its default location, then try installing again, then see if it’s working if it does, then your off to go. Just moved everything up to place.
