I have a problem with Help and Support Center whenever I click the View running services in the Advanced System Information section I always got this error message.
Though this isn't a serious problem to worry but I want to eliminate this kind of problem.
I don't think that this is cause by a virus or Malware.

Error: ‘inst.PathName’ is null or not an object
This happens due to orphaned service whose image path registry value is missing. Or if the image path registry value contains null data. When the help and support center try to get the file name from the image path the above mentioned error occurs.
To identify the problematic service which is causing the error you may use myVBSCRIPTÂ . Once you run the script it images out all the services whose image path data is null, and stores the information in the text file named ORPHSERVICES.txt in C:
Based on the results you can choose whether to remove the service or to type the correct image path. In case of a valid window service download, http://www.winhelponline.com/xp/reg/ListOrphanservices.vbs.
These steps if you follow you are surely be able to get freedom from this error.
Good Luck!!!
