I just upgraded my pc to windows 7 64-bit. It went well but when I tried to connect my iPhone to iTunes a message popped out “Error 0x8000065 cannot recognize iPhone”. I am pretty much sure that the problem is not with my new operating system because all other programs installed are working perfectly. How can I fix this issue?

Hello Kaycee,

It seems that you are having problems in connecting iPhone to iTunes or vice versa. In this case, you have changed your operating system recently and that may have caused the issue.

For you to fix this problem, uninstall iTunes in your computer: click "START" > then "CONTROL PANEL" > select "PROGRAMS and FILES" > then locate "iTunes." From there, you will see an uninstall button, click it and undergo the process of uninstallation. When done, restart your computer. Back to Windows, you download the latest version of iTunes that is compatible with Windows 7 operating system and then "INSTALL."

Here, you will notice the installation process. Once done, you can now connect your iPhone to computer and sync it. Let the iTunes restore your iPhone for you to be ready in using it again with no hassle.

I hope I got your point regarding this question. I hope this information is of good help. Good luck!

Yours,
Mali

Hi there,

Make sure you are not using a USB hub, connect it directly to your computer’s USB port. Also ensure that you are using a genuine Apple USB cable

If this still does not work, uninstall iTunes, via Control Panel. But also make sure that you also uninstall other Apple components, you can see it by clicking the Publisher tab, and it will sort it alphabetically (see image below)

NOTE: uninstall iTunes first, then QuickTime, and then follow it with everything else.
