I am using MAC OSX, and when I am trying to download Skype Beta to solve some problems with Skype, it gives some messages in download pane which says mounting failed. Please help me sort out this problem.
Error message when trying to download Skype Beta
Hello Joe,
Beta versions of many programs do bear a lot of problems. Either they are missing some components or they have some other problem. Anyways, they are meant for testing purposes. So the problem you are experiencing may be caused by the beta version of Skype you are downloading, maybe it is missing some important components or registries that are required for it to be used on the MAC OSX.
So I will advice that you just download a full version of Skype instead of the beta version and install it on your computer and see it works.

Error message when trying to download Skype Beta
Hello Joe Fitz
Every version of Skype specially Skype beta version is not smoothly running on MAC OSX. Skype beta version has some problems. There may be some components missing. They may release this version for testing purpose. Skype v.5 or later version is specially made for MAC OSX to reduce the major drawback of the previous versions. You can easily download this from this link.

I hope it helps.
Error message when trying to download Skype Beta
Hi Joe Fitz,
This problem may be caused due to the corrupted download. A damaged file is likely to get this kind of error. Try this direct link to download: https://www.skype.com/en/get-skype/. If this doesn’t solve your problem, then there may be a problem in your system. Download any other .dmg files from any other website & then try to install. If you cannot install, then run “Verify Disk” button from “Disk Utility” software package from the Utilities directory of your system’s Applications folder. This should repair any system damage. Hope this helps.
Error message when trying to download Skype Beta
Normally, when you see “mounting” or any string or text related to “mount”, it may be referring to a drive. It can be a virtual drive or any drive that needs to be mounted. If your computer has a virtual drive installed and you receive this message, try checking if you created a virtual drive.
The message may refer to a virtual hard drive that failed to be mounted on a virtual drive because there is no virtual drive created. In this case, create a virtual drive and mount the virtual hard drive. If you receive the message when installing Skype, I’m not sure if that’s possible because the software doesn’t need to mount any drive to install.
