An error message which says, “There was an error communicating with Microsoft Word. Please ensure Word 2000 or newer is installed and functioning properly.” appears as I am using Microsoft Word. What should I do to resolve this? Any solution will be highly appreciated.

Hello Gould,

Your message is not clear. You can enter/ use the word or not. Any way,

You should try MICROSOFT WORD TROUBLESHOOTING: Word Crashes, Freeze Ups, Blue Screens of Death, and Other Problems.

If this one doesn't solve your problem then try this one. Microsoft Word Trouble shooting.

Hope this will help you.

Thank you and have a good day.

Dear Michael J Gould,

Sometimes this problem occurs when we update our software or upgrade it with a newer version.

You are facing the same problem. You have upgraded your Office or word with a newer version. The newer software has replaced your old word launcher file.

This new file is crashed and unable to launch.

So that you cannot run Microsoft word file.

You have to repair your office to get this problem out.

Open Add/Remove program and choose Microsoft office. Click on change button in front of it. Then it will ask you to repair or remove the office.

Just click on repair. It will take some minutes and your office will be repaired.

I hope you will like this method.

Thanks

If you are opening a file stored on a network drive, make sure Microsoft Office Word is installed on your computer. If you installed Microsoft Office Word on a different drive rather than on the default drive which is C, make sure the drive is accessible.

If you installed Microsoft Office Word on an external drive like a USB external hard drive, connect that drive on your computer to restore access to Microsoft Office Word. You may also get this error when you install Microsoft Office 2010 using the “Click-to-Run” option. When you install with this option, it will create drive Q (Q:) where “winword.exe” will be stored.

The error happens because drive Q could not be accessed, modified, or shared. To fix this problem, uninstall Microsoft Office 2010 and install it normally. This will install the package in “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office” which is the correct path.
