Dear Friends,
I have lost all my black DVDs due to the following error.
All disks were cursed during burning process and following error encountered.
Everything was going fine except when I upgraded my operating system to Vista.
After upgradation, the writer is not working properly.
Is this due to the incompatibility between OS and Writer or any other issue involved?
CDBurnerXP
An error occurred burning the disc. Most likely the disc is not usable. Usually, these error happen if the inserted media is not compatible to the drive or of poor quality.
Internal SDK error:
CStarBurn_ScsiTransportSPTI::ExecuteCDB(): Command failed
Thanks,
Matt

You might be encountering a compatibility issue within the software installed before upgrading your operating system to vista.
It might also be within the system registry.
Solution 1:
Reinstall the program using the software from before and see if by doing this, it might resolve your problem.
Solution 2:
Download a burning program compatible to your operating system. Check all of the requirements and then install the new downloaded software in your system.
Solution 3:
Look for other burning software in the internet then install it in your system. Make sure to check also the requirements before downloading and installing the software.
You might also want to consider formatting your system and not directly upgrading from other operating system.

There is actually no problem with your CD writer or DVD writer. It is still operational even if you changed your operating system. When you changed your operating system, the problem you have to deal with is what program to use to burn your CDs or DVDs because the CD burning application you used before may not work on the current operating system you are using.
To make sure you can still use the same application on your new operating system, try updating it to the latest version. Download and install CDBurnerXP 4.5.4.5306. It is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 including Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2008 both 32-bit and 64-bit.
Once updated, try burning again and see if it works. If you still can’t burn a CD, check your optical drive and verify that you have a DVD writer instead of a CD writer. Since you want to burn DVDs, you definitely require a DVD writer to do the job.
If your optical drive is only a CD writer then there’s no way you can burn those DVDs. You might only damage those blank DVDs. In order for you to burn those DVDs, you need to purchase a new DVD writer and replace your existing CD writer. A DVD writer can burn both CDs and DVDs that’s why it is way better than an ordinary CD writer.
