Error in playing AVI files

The image below shows the kind of error that I get every time I do a right click on windows with AVI files. I have deleted all codecs and multimedia players and window media players too to make sure that there is no clash but there is no change. I have also sort the help of registry tools but with no success.

Please help me!

Is this your file fully downloaded or have not corrupted during file transfer? If your download is corrupted, avi file cannot play. If not, Please try VLC player version 1.1.11 you can download it from filehippo.com. Sometimes avi file cannot play with old windows media player. Because windows player has no avi “codec”.

I can barely see what the error message reads, but if the problem you are experiencing while you try to run the VLC media player has to do with the codecs, then I will suggest the following remedies:

  • Uninstall the vlc player that you have installed, because it could be an older version that does not have support for a wide range of codecs. Thereafter get the latest version of the VLC player and install it. Make sure that you check if your system is either a 64 bit or 32 bit and download the right application for it.
  • If VLC continues with the problems, try other alternative video players. There are quite a number of players that will give you the best performance just like vlc, and these are the KMPlayer, MPC star and the GOM player. So choose one and download it and install on your system.
