Hi,
I’m using a HP Pavilion p7qe series desktop computer. It has a Genuine Windows 7 Premium operating system and 4GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [2 DIMMs] memory. I was trying to install a new printer to my computer and as I stated running the setup, I got the following error message.
“Error: Repeatedly Running – There is an instance of setup running. Please exit.”
I have no other installation setup running. I restarted the computer and tried to run the setup and still have the same error. I shut down the computer, unplugged the printer, then plugged it back in and turned on the computer. When I try to run the setup, the same error comes up. Any ideas how to solve this problem?
Thanks.

Repeatedly Running Error on installing new printer
First of all, I suggest deleting unwanted files from your computer, with Disk Cleanup. After finishing, restart your computer.
When you turn on your computer, right click on the “My Computer” icon, and select Manage . The Computer Management utility window will open .
On the left-hand panel, under “Services and Applications” click “Services”, and you will see the “Windows Installer” icon on the right-hand panel. Right-Click on the “Windows Installer “ icon and choose Properties.
New window will appear- “Windows Installer Properties” and under “General”menu, under “Startup type” select “Disables” and click OK. Then Restart your computer.
Then, when you turn your computer on, again right-click on the “My Computer “ icon and follow the mentioned steps, and change the “Startup type” in Manual and click OK .
Now try to install the printer.
Hope this will help you.
