Hello there,
I installed oracle in my laptop running on windows vista ultimate. Honestly, I am new in using Oracle Database and I really want to learn more about it. At first I never had a problem using this software, until an error dialog box pops up on my screen when trying to save my file.
Error saving
“C:oracleproduct10.2.0db_1networkADMINtnsnames.ora”!
Probably the file is locked by another application.
How can I save my file without seeing this error message? What could be the cause of this problem? I closed other application running on my laptop when I save that file but this error is still visible. Anyone has an idea to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance to those who will post solutions!

Error Saving in Oracle Database
Hi,
I'm not sure whether this idea will work, but probably if you have tried closing all applications and it doesn't save, then you may try upgrading the Windows to Windows 7,or back to Win XP Pro,basically, vista has problems with applications. If the error still comes, you may try debugging with VB.
Error Saving in Oracle Database
Hello.
You see an error that says “C:oracleproduct10.2.0db_1networkADMINtnsnames.ora” for the reason that your file is saved and located in a network location. Because of that, more than one user can edit your file at the same time. What you can do now is to copy your locked file when editing on your computer and monitor if this error still occurs.
I hope this helps.
