Hi,

I was upgrading my Mac to OS X Mountain Lion using the Mac App store icon on my Mac. The upgrade took place but later on an error emerged with the image shown below.

Error message:

No VIBU-KEY driver found. (501)

Error updating to Mountain Lion

Upgrading your Mac to the latest Mac OS X Mountain Lion is as easy as downloading the file through the Apple App Store and then installing it like just any other application. This error is rare to happen when upgrading the operating system. Besides that, it also happens when you have GRAPHISOFT ArchiCAD installed on your Mac and then you upgraded to Mountain Lion.

The WIBU-KEY driver error 501 also happens. To fix this, you need to install the WIBU/CodeMeter driver. First, you need to change the Gatekeeper settings to allow installation. Gatekeeper is integrated in the Security option of Mac OS X Mountain Lion to prevent the execution of potentially harmful programs. To access it, go to System Preferences then Security & Privacy.

In General tab under “Allow applications downloaded from”, select “Mac App Store and identified developers”. See image.

Finally, download the WibuKey driver from CodeMeter and WibuKey Driver Downloads and then install it. The drivers support Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X 10.4.9 up to Mac OS X 10.8.
