Error The user does not exist or is not unique.

I have been receiving an error, that the user does not exist in my SharePoint server. I found that this error comes up, if the user is not a member of a domain.

I made sure that the user is a part of the domain and the user is able to access everything in domain. I have tried using another username but the same error pop’s up.

Can someone tell what the reason behind these error messages is?

Error The user does not exist or is not unique.

Hi,

The above error occurred, when an event message informed you of a successful and unsuccessful operation and the assigned ID numbers. This is the reason, the user does not exist or the user is not unique.
