The error you are getting when trying to connect to the University eduroam network could be due to the following reasons:

• The computer you are on right now does have access to the internet. You will therefore need to check the following:
  • Check to make sure that the network cable is connected and working properly.
  • If you are using a wireless network you will need to make sure that your signal strength is strong enough.
• If you University uses proxy settings in the browsers, you will need to  make sure that the settings have been configured properly in your browser.

After you have done the above, try connecting the browser again.

That is an access denied error which means your internet connection is restricted to certain users only. This error is related to permissions and if you are trying to access the internet and an access denied error was encountered, it means you are not allowed to connect to the internet. It doesn’t mean you don’t have internet connection.

It’s just that you are not allowed to connect to the internet. If you are a student, your user account is not allowed to connect to the internet. It is your network administrator who restricts the connection so no student is able to connect to the internet.

Normally, this restriction affects only the computers within a specific local area network, in your case, the computers in your computer lab room. If you need to connect to the internet, you need to ask your network administrator so he change your user permission and allow you to connect to the internet.
