Error while Initiating IOS Database Engine

I am using Windows 98 Second Edition. I am trying to remove my temporary PCI video card from PCI slot 1. But it causes the following error. "Real mode system memory allocation failed while initiating IOS Database engine". Can anyone help me on this?

Hi Garcia,

This might be a silly question, but are you removing the card while your computer is turned off? 

Also, did you disable the card in system settings before you attempted to remove the card?  Once it's disabled, you should be able to remove it from the configuration settings.

Lastly, is your system memory shared with your video card memory?

These are just a few items to consider.
