I’ve been encountering an error on using Maya 2012 when saving a file and then trying to re-open it again. The error I get is, “Error: Error while parsing arguments.” As much as I am trying to ignore it, I just can’t. Can someone please help? Thanks.
Error while parsing Arguments in Maya 2012
Hi Carly Williams,
Currently Maya doesn't`t have any permanent solution for this problem. But they have given steps and methods. Some user even called this error a “Feature” lots of Maya 2012 users are getting this problem, and some are not getting these.
1. First thing they said is just you can just ignore it or you can change the location of the file you are trying to save and then change the file name of it after saving it.
2. Second is to try to reinstall it but Copy the Files inside the folder first. Then reinstall it and paste the files that you copied on the new folder. This will Solution will give you a new error, but its not really an error but a notification that you have Copied a new file to its folder.
3. After saving a file and after changing its name instead of double clicking it you right click it and Choose open with the locate the Maya program to open it.
Thank you and Contact me for any further questions
Error while parsing Arguments in Maya 2012
Hello Carly,
The following are the workarounds you should try in order to resolve the issue that you are getting:
-
First, you will need to try getting rid of all history in Maya and see if that will resolve the issue.
-
You will also need to try optimizing scene, but before that make sure that you save it.
-
That will help give your objects meaningful names, since it is based on object oriented programming.
-
The methods as well as attributes are linked using dot notation, and the reason for that is because Maya may end up spinning in case the name are similar.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Carl
